Holiday Party Saturday December 16, 2017

HO HO HO. It’s time for our annual Holiday Party.  This Saturday, meet at Finish Line Sports.  We will run/walk and then return to have yummy food, drinks, and prizes.
MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL – EVERYTHING IS 25% OFF AT FINISH LINE SPORTS FOR FBF MEMBERS ONLY (and their family) all day tomorrow. Many thanks to Sponsor Andy Stewart! …………Please note that sale items are not included in the discount.
FBF PROGRAM SHIRTS ARE IN. YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT! THESE ARE THE SHIRTS THAT WERE INCLUDED WITH YOUR REGISTRATION. PICK YOURS UP SATURDAY AFTER THE RUN/WALK.  You may pick up your family member’s shirt.  If you are not going to be present tomorrow, you can pick up your shirt on December 23rd, after the run.  Friends can not pick up the shirts for you.

Congrats to all who participated in the Fort Bend Kia 30K last weekend. You can tell from the stories on Face Book that everyone was extremely happy to finish!
We have four Saturdays of training before the Chevron Houston Marathon/Aramco Half/5K and 6 before the Memorial Hermann USA Fit Marathon/Fort Bend Kia Half Marathon/Simon Spine 5K.  Try not to stress about training over the holidays. Use your training as a way to release stress.

It is time for nominations for the 2018 Road Warrior. Our reigning 2017 Road Warrior, Stuart Riggs, will turn over his scepter to the new recipient at our annual Pasta Dinner on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018. We ask all FBF members to think about and submit a nomination each year. What is a Road Warrior? Hmmm, well, I can list all the past Road Warriors and you will have an idea but, let me list some attributes too. A Road Warrior enhances the FBF organization. They put others before themselves. They “give back” more than they “get”. They do whatever is needed to support FBF within the organization and the community. They follow their training plan and become an inspiration to others. They never, never, give up.

Road Warriors beginning with season one are Tessy Phillips, Rich Cain, Sandy Lord, Bob Tyson, Vince Lewis, Terrell Smith, Mark Berman, Harris Argo, Kevin Walker, Myron Dianiska, Randy Smith, Keith Cox, Paula Sokolich, Peggy McElroy, Patty Godfrey, Linda Calles, and reigning RW, Stuart Riggs.

Who will be #18? Please submit your nomination to me by December 23rd at 5:00 pm. Your subject should be “Road Warrior Nomination”.  Your Head Coaches are not eligible for nomination. Your nomination must include an explanation and examples of why you are nominating the person. Click this email and send to terrie.gorney@usa.net

See you guys Saturday at the Holiday Party!
Coach Terrie
